Il a grandi dans les montagnes des <strong data-start=\"253\" data-end=\"263\">Aravis<\/strong>, entre <strong data-start=\"271\" data-end=\"282\">Manigod<\/strong> et <strong data-start=\"286\" data-end=\"299\">La Clusaz<\/strong>, o\u00f9 sa famille menait une vie paysanne simple. Ses parents tenaient une petite auberge au <strong data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"413\">col de la Croix Fry<\/strong>, servant des plats savoyards traditionnels pr\u00e9par\u00e9s avec des produits frais et des herbes locales. L\u2019environnement de son enfance, \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 \u00e0 la nature, a profond\u00e9ment marqu\u00e9 ses premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"1253\">D\u00e8s son jeune \u00e2ge, Veyrat se rendait \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole \u00e0 pied et cueillait en chemin des herbes aromatiques sauvages, qu\u2019il accrochait souvent \u00e0 son chapeau savoyard. Cette habitude lui a donn\u00e9 tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t une connaissance des plantes de montagne et de leurs saveurs. \u00c0 la maison, il aidait \u00e0 l\u2019auberge familiale, d\u00e9couvrant la cuisine rustique au fil des t\u00e2ches quotidiennes. Bien qu\u2019il ait tent\u00e9 d\u2019int\u00e9grer une \u00e9cole h\u00f4teli\u00e8re \u00e0 <strong data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1069\">Bellegarde-sur-Valserine<\/strong>, il en a \u00e9t\u00e9 renvoy\u00e9. D\u00e8s <strong data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1428\">1986<\/strong>, il a obtenu sa <strong data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1473\">premi\u00e8re \u00e9toile Michelin<\/strong>, puis une deuxi\u00e8me en <strong data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1504\">1987<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1509\" data-end=\"1973\">En <strong data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1520\">1992<\/strong>, il a ouvert un autre \u00e9tablissement, <strong data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1586\">La Maison de Marc Veyrat<\/strong> (\u00e9galement appel\u00e9e <strong data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1629\">Auberge de l\u2019\u00c9ridan<\/strong>) \u00e0 <strong data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1651\">Veyrier-du-Lac<\/strong>, pr\u00e8s du lac d\u2019Annecy. Malgr\u00e9 de grandes difficult\u00e9s financi\u00e8res, le restaurant est rapidement devenu si pris\u00e9 que les r\u00e9servations se faisaient six mois \u00e0 l\u2019avance. En <strong data-start=\"1821\" data-end=\"1829\">1995<\/strong>, il a obtenu une <strong data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"1876\">troisi\u00e8me \u00e9toile Michelin<\/strong>, et peu apr\u00e8s il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu <strong data-start=\"1904\" data-end=\"1927\">\u00ab Chef de l\u2019ann\u00e9e \u00bb<\/strong> par le magazine am\u00e9ricain <em data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"1970\">Wine Spectator<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"2405\">En <strong data-start=\"1978\" data-end=\"1986\">1999<\/strong>, il a inaugur\u00e9 <strong data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2026\">La Ferme de mon P\u00e8re<\/strong> \u00e0 <strong data-start=\"2029\" data-end=\"2039\">Meg\u00e8ve<\/strong>, con\u00e7ue comme une ferme savoyarde traditionnelle. En <strong data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2101\">2001<\/strong>, ses deux \u00e9tablissements, \u00e0 Veyrier-du-Lac et \u00e0 Meg\u00e8ve, ont obtenu la note de <strong data-start=\"2180\" data-end=\"2189\">19\/20<\/strong> dans le guide <strong data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2222\">Gault &amp; Millau<\/strong>. L\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante, il a conserv\u00e9 ses scores malgr\u00e9 un incendie ayant endommag\u00e9 l\u2019un de ses \u00e9tablissements.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"2988\">En <strong data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2709\">2005<\/strong>, il a ouvert un nouveau projet culinaire au sein du stade de <strong data-start=\"2771\" data-end=\"2788\">Roland-Garros<\/strong> \u00e0 Paris. Mais en janvier <strong data-start=\"2814\" data-end=\"2822\">2006<\/strong>, il a subi un grave accident de ski qui l\u2019a gri\u00e8vement bless\u00e9 et l\u2019a \u00e9cart\u00e9 un temps du sommet de la gastronomie. Cette m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il a vendu l\u2019auberge de Meg\u00e8ve.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2990\" data-end=\"3400\">En septembre <strong data-start=\"3003\" data-end=\"3011\">2013<\/strong>, Marc Veyrat est revenu avec <strong data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3063\">La Maison des Bois<\/strong> \u00e0 <strong data-start=\"3066\" data-end=\"3077\">Manigod<\/strong>, un h\u00f4tel-restaurant \u00e9co-responsable nich\u00e9 dans les montagnes du col de la Croix Fry. L\u2019\u00e9tablissement a obtenu la distinction cinq \u00e9toiles d\u2019<strong data-start=\"3219\" data-end=\"3235\">Atout France<\/strong> en octobre 2014. Il a \u00e9galement cr\u00e9\u00e9 la <strong data-start=\"3276\" data-end=\"3301\">Fondation Marc Veyrat<\/strong>, d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la protection de l\u2019environnement et \u00e0 la transmission du savoir culinaire aux enfants.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3402\" data-end=\"3763\">En <strong data-start=\"3405\" data-end=\"3413\">2015<\/strong>, un incendie a d\u00e9truit une grande partie de La Maison des Bois. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il a particip\u00e9 avec d\u2019autres grands chefs fran\u00e7ais au <strong data-start=\"3547\" data-end=\"3585\">sommet mondial sur le climat COP21<\/strong> \u00e0 Paris. En <strong data-start=\"3598\" data-end=\"3606\">2016<\/strong>, il a rouvert l\u2019h\u00f4tel et restaurant avec de nouvelles installations comme un jardin botanique et une ferme, visant \u00e0 retrouver son prestige gastronomique.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3765\" data-end=\"4159\">En <strong data-start=\"3768\" data-end=\"3776\">2019<\/strong>, l\u2019un de ses restaurants a perdu une \u00e9toile Michelin, mais il a \u00e9t\u00e9 intronis\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019<strong data-start=\"3859\" data-end=\"3887\">acad\u00e9mie des Toques d\u2019Or<\/strong> de Gault &amp; Millau. En novembre <strong data-start=\"3919\" data-end=\"3927\">2022<\/strong>, il a transmis la gestion de son restaurant \u00e0 sa fille <strong data-start=\"3983\" data-end=\"3992\">\u00c9lise<\/strong>.
